Flag Waving and Jersey Fails

Yesterday reminded us of the great connection that sports can have with patriotism. Seeing all of these displays really makes me disappointed that the Reds game was postponed, I had some good stuff planned for GABP but by tomorrow afternoon I have a feeling that the news of the weekend will be old news. But at least yesterday folks around the country had reactions like this to our National Anthem.

I know they always cheer like this in the United Center when Jim Cornelison sings but I certainly had special significance yesterday. As did the San Diego Padres wearing their special camo uniforms.

Apparently Johnny Cueto needs another rehab start in Louisville. He struggled in his last appearance so I'd say give him more time. Better to have him ready and effective for the long haul of the summer.

Homer Bailey is ready to go and has looked great in his rehab appearances. He'll take the hill for the Reds on Thursday afternoon.

This is really funny. It'd be funnier if it was in Columbus and not Michigan.

Anything Mario Bros. usually gets my attention. This is for the southern readers.

I'm all for custom jerseys, but this is pathetic.

I know the subject matter is pretty old, but it's still worth a few laughs.

Death of Osama

Today I take a break from sports and talk about the impact that the death of Osama Bin Laden has on our way of life. How we should be grateful for our freedoms, our military, and the hope that this feeling of unity can last instead of just fading away.

Not a lot to say that hasn't already been said. We'll be back to our regular sports-themed programming tomorrow folks. God bless America.
