Padres 3 - Reds 2

Here's your Cincinnati Fast Break for today:

Nick Masset continues his early season train wreck.
                             (Thanks to AP Photo/Denis Poroy)

P-Doc thinks the Reds should be very concerned about Aroldis Chapman.

This would be the difference between Xavier being a potential Top 25 team next season or just another A-10 also ran.

Another good win for Coach Cleary and the UC baseball team winning the Joe Nuxhall Classic. Here's hoping they can keep it going against Rutgers this weekend.

Brian Kelly's recruiting classes haven't exactly panned out the way most thought they would long term and Coach Jones has to pick up the pieces.

Follow me on Twitter. Enjoy this hockey announcer call a game while it appears that he's getting a prostate exam, ignore the French guy, wait for the end.

Have a great Thursday folks.

Astros 3 - Reds 2

Here's your Cincinnati Fast Break for today:

(Thanks to AP Photo/Al Behrman for the photo)

I've said it before and I'll say it again: we fans deserve better than FSOhio and their crummy coverage.

Big love for UC basketball in this Way-Too-Early ranking for next season.

Some love for Xavier as well, but these rankings are going to change if Tu Holloway leaves for the NBA Draft.

Here's how you can enjoy some great college baseball action this weekend and save some money while doing it. While you're at it, follow Coach Brian Cleary on Twitter.

So, the Yankees travel to Fenway to take on the 0-6 Red Sox this weekend. Let's get you in the mood, shall we?
If you're gonna do a bad parody of Friday (which was terrible to begin with), at least try to sing. Although this guy can barely talk...

Warning: very mild language...

Uh... yeah that just happened...

OK, so this is a little sloppy and not the best video quality, but it's still awesome.

Follow me on Twitter. Plenty to do this weekend with the Cyclones playoff games Friday and Saturday plus UC baseball against Louisville. Get out there and support our Cincinnati teams!

UC defeats Missouri & XU v Marquette

Here's your Cincinnati Fast Break for today:

Now is the time to start taking notice of the Bearcats? You're a little late to the party, buddy...

Here's the secret to Tu Holloway's success.

It's time for the Reds to start making some cuts from their Spring Training roster.

Mike Leake is still uncertain as to what his role with the Reds will be this season.

Someone must think the NCAA is gonna come down hard on Jim Tressel because that's the only reason I think he did this.

This image brings joy to my heart...

I have a feeling this happens WAY too often...

Here's your link to follow me on Twitter. I'll be on GoBearcats.com Saturday and Sunday afternoon calling UC Baseball action against Western Michigan. Have a great weekend and enjoy the NCAA Tournament insanity.
Enjoy some Brian Regan to start off your weekend right!

East Regional Breakdown

Today’s Cincinnati Fast Break:

A look back at how Mick Cronin scrapped his way through the past five years to finally get UC back to the NCAA Tournament.

Bill Koch wonders how UC would have fared this season if Lance Stephenson wouldn’t have left to ride the pine for the Pacers. I personally think the Bearcats are better off without him, but if Mick would have been able to adjust his attitude the way he did with Yancy Gates, this team could have been scary good with a go-to scorer.

Xavier’s talented women’s team feels they got robbed out of playing in the Dayton regional in the NCAA Tournament, and I have to agree. The Women’s tournament is one of the most corrupt and unusual events you’ll find. The projected good teams are the ones that get chosen to host the first rounds, like Xavier gets to do this year, because the NCAA knows those schools will sell tickets. Xavier not getting respect, because they are a smaller school, is the reason they have to go to Spokane instead of Dayton. Just goes to show the ongoing corruptness of the governing body of collegiate athletics.

Ever want to get your wife, fiancĂ©e, girlfriend, friend you’re awkwardly trying to move in on, etc… to be interested in sports? These tips might help.

I leave you with great moments in college basketball via Legos. Have a great Tuesday folks.

Selection Sunday Recap

Here’s your Cincinnati Fast Break for today with all kinds of March Madness:

Hope your Selection Sunday was more than just One Shining Moment. Here’s Gus Johnson to get you in the mood for hoops.

Bill Koch has reaction to UC’s selection to the Big Dance.
http://news.cincinnati.com/article/20110313/SPT0101/303130043/Dance-invitation-not-enough-UC

P-Doc tells UC fans that if you still have bitter feelings against Mick Cronin, it’s time to get over it.

Shannon Russell reminds us that Xavier is somewhat familiar with Marquette.

ESPN has spent WAY too much time debating the biggest snubs of the Tournament. Here’s what you need to know about them in a nutshell.

Here’s a list of five games that could be some of the most exciting on Thursday and Friday.

Ryan Hanigan gets a new three-year, $4 million contract. I like the move, he’ll be key in mentoring the Reds’ stronghold of catching prospects that will come up over the next few seasons.

Soldier Field is going to finally appear in Madden next year? Awesome? Seriously, I hate when athletic venues won’t let video games use their actual name or likeness. Get over yourself, it’s just a name…

Folks in Cleveland are enjoying this a little too much…

Enjoy wasting time at work filling out your brackets today. I leave you with a look at real Madness, bracket style.

UC destroyed by ND and Xavier in the A-10 Tournament

First of all, thoughts and prayers go out to everyone in Japan, Hawaii and other countries who are feeling the effects of the earthquake and tsunami. In the grand scheme of life, sports are a fun diversion from a lot of things, but there are far more important happenings right now.

Here’s today’s Cincinnati Fast Break:

The Reds dropped their Spring Training game against the Giants yesterday in the Spring opener for Edinson Volquez. Here’s a look back at the game and Edinson’s crazy travel week.

P-Doc claims that the constant clamoring for a traditional leadoff hitter is something that few teams have and something the Reds don’t necessarily need.

Ohio high school football is outstanding, but they lack behind other states in one important issue.

I’m really tired of hearing about the NFL labor situation and every little detail that doesn’t get them any closer to a new CBA. However, this article provides some good perspective and new legal options.

I feel for these kids who are trying to make a name for themselves, but even at the college level you can pump out a better quality broadcast than this.

I’m dead!” No, you’re just an idiot who was running around in oncoming traffic. Stay off drugs kids.

You might hate soccer, but look at this video and tell me that’s not impressive.

Not a fan of Gus Johnson’s? Then you’ll love this under reaction to a game-winning shot.

Apparently Cincinnati is really good at Facebook, Twitter, Four Square, etc… Does that make us really geeky or socially advanced?

Here’s where I tell you to follow me on Twitter. Have a great weekend and enjoy Selection Sunday! Listen to GoBearcats.com this weekend for live coverage of UC Baseball versus Cleveland State. I’ll be calling games Saturday at 4:00 and Sunday at 1:00. Enjoy a laugh courtesy of everyone’s favorite basket case, Charlie Sheen.

Without further ado, here’s today’s Cincinnati Fast Break.

Mike Decoursey of The Sporting News has a primer on this week’s major conference tournaments here.

Whether right or wrong, you never ever cheer in a press box. Here is a cautionary tale for aspiring broadcasters and journalists.

I know it’s only Spring Training, but beating down the Cubs like this always feels good.

Johnny Cueto signed a big extension in the offseason and vows to ramp up his production this season.

The Cincinnati high school sports scene is unlike any other throughout the country. Here's a list of the Top 100 male multi-sport athletes in Cincinnati history.
